1. Overview
Cookies and similar technologies can store or read information on your device. SmartGEO uses them only where needed to operate the service, secure sessions, remember interface state, measure reliability, or support optional analytics where enabled.
2. Strictly necessary technologies
These are required to provide the service and generally cannot be disabled through a cookie banner because the service would not function correctly without them.
- Authentication and session storage used to keep users logged in.
- Security, rate-limit, CSRF, and abuse-prevention state where applicable.
- Local storage used by the dashboard to remember selected project, onboarding state, or user interface state.
- Transactional email flows such as verification and password reset codes.
3. Analytics and performance
SmartGEO does not use advertising cookies as part of its core product. If analytics or performance monitoring is enabled, it should be limited to understanding product reliability, errors, page performance, and aggregate usage.
Where consent is required by law, optional analytics should run only after consent. Where a local exemption applies for strictly limited audience measurement, the configuration should remain privacy-preserving and documented.
4. Third-party technologies
Some third-party providers may set or read similar technologies when they provide infrastructure, security, monitoring, forms, analytics, or integrations. Their use depends on the features enabled for your account and the configuration of the website.
- Google services when you sign in with Google or connect Google Search Console.
- Monitoring and error-tracking services used to diagnose product issues.
- CMS or companion-plugin endpoints when you connect an integration.
- Email and support services used to respond to requests.
5. Your choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent login, dashboard, integration, or security features from working.
If SmartGEO enables optional analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we should provide a clear consent choice and a way to change that choice.
